Policies, in plain words
Read these before you book. They're the same for every colorist in the studio.
Booking and deposits
Book online or by text. Sessions of three hours or more take a deposit that holds your time and goes toward your service. New clients start with a consultation, so your colorist can plan the shades and the hours before a long day is held.
Canceling and running late
Please give us 48 hours to cancel or move a color session, and 24 hours for a consultation or a refresh. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may shorten the service or move it to another day, because color runs on its own clock. Text us if you're running behind.
If you miss an appointment
If you miss a session without telling us, the deposit stays with the studio and a new one holds your next booking. Life happens; message us and we'll talk it through.
Children and companions
Color sessions run long and the studio is a working space, so we ask clients to come on their own. We color hair for clients 16 and over, and under 18 needs a parent or guardian's OK at booking. A friend can wait in the front seating area.
Patch tests and allergies
Before your first color with us we do a patch test, following the maker's directions: a small amount of the color on your skin, read after 48 hours. Stop by during open hours; it takes about 10 minutes. Tell us when you book if you've reacted to a hair product, dye or lightener. We can't give medical advice, and we'll suggest your doctor if something looks like more than we can judge.
Redos and refunds
If your color isn't what we planned, tell us within a week and we'll look at it together. Vivid shades soften with every wash, and that's expected; a refresh is how you keep them bright.
Tipping
Tips are welcome and never expected. Add one when you pay, in cash or by card, and it's shared between the colorists who worked on you.
Before your visit
Eat before a long session, and bring water, a charger and something to read or watch. Wear a top that buttons or zips so nothing is pulled over wet hair. Bring photos of colors you like and colors you don't, and tell us what's been on your hair, even box color or henna from long ago.
